Pakistan's rugged mountains, hidden villages, and wind-swept plains are among the world's most spectacular landscapes. The following are 5 of the most beautiful places in Pakistan, ranging from wild mountain passes to unreal lakes and ornate mosques to ancient fortifications.
Five most
beautiful places in Pakistan
The five most beautiful places in Pakistan (in no particular
order) are listed below.
SWAT
VALLEY
The present and future of Swat Valley shine brightly despite
its rough past. There is something magical about this valley in Pakistan's
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Imagine fields and forests that are bright green,
picturesque villages, and rivers that are so blue you would never guess they
were real!
Swat is at its most beautiful around the town of Kalam,
which serves as a base for exploration of the valley.
Kalam town is a short drive, or manageable uphill walk from
Boyun, also called Green Top. Upon reaching the pinnacle, you'll be rewarded
with sweeping views of the valley below and one of the most beautiful villages
I've ever seen. You can easily visit Boyun from Kalam in a day.
This well-preserved forest is full of deodar trees and is a
great place to lose yourself. Several villages are located along the road
leading into the woods along the Kalam River.
HUNZA
VALLEY
Almost everyone who lives in Pakistan - or has read anything
about the country - has heard of Hunza. Hunza has many valleys and villages, so
don't be misled by the word 'valley'.
One of Pakistan's most recognisable sights is the Passu
Cathedral. Even though overnight stays are no longer allowed in Passu village,
the cones are visible from a distance, starting from the town of Gulmit.
Approximately an hour's drive from Gilgit City, the Karakoram Highway offers
the best view of the Cathedral.
In Pakistan, the Passu Cathedral is a natural work of art
and one of the most recognisable sights. Even though staying overnight in Passu
village is no longer permitted, the cones are visible from a distance, starting
from Gulmit village. About an hour's drive from Gilgit City, the Karakoram
Highway provides the best view of the Cathedral.
Do you want to see one of the most epic sunsets in the Hunza
Valley? Take advantage of the golden hour at Eagle's Nest! Despite its name,
you can drive up to the viewpoint without visiting the upscale hotel/restaurant
nearby.
BROIL
VALLEY
Formerly accessible by trek or horseback, Broghil Valley is
located up north, close to Afghanistan's Wakhan Corridor. In the few months
when it is not buried under piles of snow, the once-hidden location can be
reached by a treacherous jeep track.
The status of foreigners visiting Broghil is unclear at
present. (If you insist, check with the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Chitral
before trekking up there.) But Pakistanis - please don't miss this beauty! A
dramatic mountainous backdrop soars above 13,000 feet, surrounding numerous
high-altitude lakes, yaks, and green pastures.
Moreover, a day's trek from Lashkargaz, the last village in
Broghil, will lead you to Karambar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world.
KALASH
VALLEYS
In Pakistan, the Kalash people reside in the Bumboret,
Rumour, and Birir valleys, a religious and ethnic minority with their own
beliefs, culture, and language. There is no doubt that the Kalash valleys are
some of the most beautiful places in Pakistan - not just because of the natural
splendour but also because of the beauty of the Kalash people.
There is something particularly stunning about the Rumbur
valley. Along the Kalash River, kilometres of dusty road and mountains rumble.
Women of the Kalash people are mainly known for their vibrantly-coloured
traditional dresses and headwear that differs from anything else found in
Pakistan. Kalash homes are made of wood and cling to the high hills.
It's straightforward to reach one of the valleys nowadays
since Chitral City is only 2.5 hours away. Consider hiking into Rumbur's valley
if you do decide to go. Rumbur's last settlement, Sheikhandeh, was once a
Nuristani village whose residents migrated across the border to Pakistan a few
hundred years ago.
Naran
Kaghan
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province has incredible tourist
destinations such as Naran and Kaghan. It is the perfect place for nature
lovers to explore these valleys. Rivers flow through them, miles of meadows
surround them, and snowy mountains tower above them.
The valleys are some of the country's most popular tourist
destinations. There is a great deal of natural beauty in this area. The rivers'
crystal waters, the meadows' green grass, and the snow-capped peaks define it.
Several beautiful lakes are available to tourists, such as
Lake Saiful Malook, Lulusar Lake, Aansoo Lake (Tear Lake), and Dutipatsar Lake.
It is a popular tourist destination that attracts thousands of tourists yearly.
This is a great place to visit during the summer, preferably between May and
September.
